Sangster’s Obsession: Pathway to the Cave of the Winds, 1886
A stunning black and white etching of Niagara Falls from nearly 130 years ago by Amos W. Sangster (1833-1904), a painter and etcher who specialized in scenes along the Niagara River. Published as Niagara River and Falls from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario: a Series of One Hundred and Fifty-Three Original Etchings, this ambitious project became his life’s work and is dedicated to his close friend and major Sangster art collector, Grover Cleveland, then President of the United States. A companion piece to Sangster’s Ice Mountain, Horse Shoe Falls, this print is perfect for the home or office.
