Audubon's Birds: Hooping Crane
Audubon's Birds: Hooping Crane
A charming print from Birds of America, published 1827-1838. Naturalist and painter John James Audubon traveled thousands of miles over many years to seek out and draw these highly-detailed specimens in their natural habitats. These gorgeous illustrations were published by the author as a limited-edition subscription series of 435 plates. In 1931, the Library was given one of only 120 complete four-volume sets in existence today.
