Catalogue, BUILDING BUFFALO: Buildings From Books, Books From Buildings
Building Buffalo is an impressive companion catalogue to the Library’s past exhibit of the same name, which was on display at the Downtown Buffalo (NY) Central Library, main floor Rare Book Display Room, through March 2018.
Soft cover book, 88 pages, with extensive articles describing the Library’s comprehensive collection on the history of architecture and landscape design.
Authored by Nicholas Adams, Vassar College; Francis R. Kowsky, SUNY Distinguished Professor Emeritus; and Amy Pickard, Rare Book Curator, Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, Building Buffalo is attractively designed with many of the stunning images and illustrations from the original books. The authors discuss the direct influences of these resources upon architects and designers for buildings in the City of Buffalo – many of which, fortunately, can still be seen today -- as a beautiful metropolitan center.
